We started our series highlighting noteworthy destinations and venues on the east coast. Now it’s time to give the west coast some love! There are many reasons to love California, from the near perfect weather, the ability to be sitting beachside or in the mountains within a few hours and of course, the abundance of great wine.
Fan Favorites:
The newest space amongst the coveted L.A. venue scene, SoFi Stadium & Hollywood Park, is something to behold! Completed just this summer, this unparalleled sports and entertainment destination has so much to offer from small, intimate gatherings to the largest of events, including the Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the 2028 Olympic Games. Not everyone can say they have held an event where such a beloved piece of the Olympics has taken place!
Where West Hollywood meets Beverly Hills sits a new luxury boutique hotel, West Hollywood Edition. Whether you are looking to plan a wedding or corporate meeting, they’ve got it covered. With 5 event spaces, an onsite auditorium, a subterranean club, and a rooftop deck with views of Los Angeles, this venue will be able to deliver.
Venturing a bit outside, sits Resort at Squaw Creek in North Lake Tahoe. Between the beauty of the interior spaces and the awe-inspiring views of North Lake Tahoe, this resort has it all! Their newly enhanced meeting and wedding spaces provide nearly 33,000 square feet of flexible indoor space and nearly 15,000 square feet outside with views of the Sierra Nevada Mountains.
Out of the Box:
Sitting atop the San Francisco Proper, is Charmaine’s Rooftop Bar and Lounge, where the “energetic chic of a European terrace meets the laid-back vibes of California cool.” Named by Conde Nast as one of the best rooftop bars, up to 200 guests will find panoramic views as they stroll through the 1,120 square feet of indoor space and nearly 1,200 square feet of outdoor terrace space for a one-of-a-kind, trés chic reception.
A mere 10 blocks from the Santa Monica oceanfront and the world-famous Santa Monica Pier, sits Heroic. Opened in February 2019, this beautiful Italian restaurant could be the perfect recipe for a luxurious, yet charming small gathering for up to 100 family, friends, or colleagues. Their Secret Garden room is enchanting, not to mention they have not one, but two wine bars (upper and lower level) to be used for private events. One space features a Roman Garden feel with black and white tree murals, whereas another has a ceiling decked out in stars and the zodiac. With so much to take in, including the delectable food, this may be an idealistic small gathering venue.
Southwest of South Lake Tahoe sits Saluti Cellars. This rare gem prides itself on “providing guests with the ultimate experience with the smallest footprint.” Not only a working vineyard, they also provide accommodations through their elegant bed and breakfast, two characteristically different wedding venues and a wine cave. All while keeping with their sustainability efforts and operating on 100% solar power and offering a complimentary electric vehicle charging station.
